I joined the Fly2Health team because I’m deeply passionate about improving access to healthcare in rural and remote communities. Having grown up in a rural area and with family living in very remote parts of Australia, I’ve seen firsthand the impact that limited access to services can have. Being part of a team that actively works to bridge that gap is something that really matters to me. What I love most about my role is the variety and the people. No two days are ever the same, and it’s incredibly rewarding to support individuals, along with their families and support networks, throughout their journey. Hearing stories from people who have gone years without access to allied health before Fly2Health arrives in their community really highlights the importance of the work we do, and it’s something I never take for granted. My favourite perk would have to be the NT perks menu, especially the flights to any Australian capital city. It means I can easily travel home to Queensland to spend time with family and friends, without the added financial stress, which makes a huge difference.

I joined Fly2Health because I’m passionate about supporting people in rural and remote communities who have limited access to healthcare services. I was also motivated by the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients while continuing to develop both professionally and personally. I love the versatility of the role and the fact that no two days are the same. The variety keeps things interesting and constantly challenges me to adapt and expand my skills. Working with diverse clients and presentations has been incredibly rewarding, and I enjoy the balance of independence and teamwork that comes with the role. My favourite benefit would have to be the RDOs on Fridays. Having that regular extended break is a great way to recharge, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and come back feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead.

I was drawn to Fly2Health because of its strong focus on delivering meaningful care to communities that often miss out on consistent allied health services. The opportunity to combine travel with working in a supportive and values-driven team really stood out to me. I love the variety and impact of my role. Every day is different, and I get to work with a diverse range of clients across the lifespan. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the difference we can make, especially in rural and remote areas where access to speech pathology services can be limited. My favourite benefit is the flexibility the role offers. Being able to modify my ground days to work around life makes a huge difference and allows me to maintain a healthy work–life balance.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What time does a regular work day start and finish?

A typical outreach day starts around 7am, whether that’s hitting the road, heading to the airport, or meeting at your local station. Start times can vary depending on your home base and flight schedules, but most outreach days run for around 10 hours, finishing either back at home or in provided accommodation in the regional or remote location.

Will I ever stay the night in a regional town?

Yes! There will be times when you’re expected or required to stay overnight to provide care for a community across two consecutive days. Don’t worry, we always plan these trips well in advance so you can organise your schedule comfortably. You’ll also receive meal allowances, accommodation and local transport if this is the case. Plus, you’ll be with your Fly2Health team, which guarantees plenty of laughs along the way!

What makes Fly2Health different from other healthcare employers?

We combine adventure with purpose! You’ll travel to regions that need care, work in a collaborative and supportive environment, and have a real impact on communities while growing your career.

How many clients would I see in a typical day?

The number of clients can vary depending on the region, travel time and service needs, but you’ll generally see enough to make a real impact while maintaining quality care.

Can you choose your day off each week?

Unfortunately, days off are generally set to ensure coverage for clients and communities. However, we do our best to accommodate personal circumstances wherever possible, just have a chat with your manager.

Can I work from any capital city?

Yes and no! You’ll initially be hired in one capital city, but if you’re thinking about moving, just have a chat with your manager. We’ll always do our best to support you if a move is possible

What does a typical day look like?

No two days are the same! One day you might be at the airport before sunrise heading out to an outreach clinic, the next delivering care in local clinics or homes, or working from home on report writing, ad hoc assessments, or PD with the team. Every day is a chance to make a real difference.

How does Fly2Health support my career growth?

We offer clear progression pathways and professional development opportunities. Whether it’s building new skills, leading a team, or exploring different career progression opportunities, we want to help you reach your potential.

What benefits can I expect as a Fly2Health team member?

You’ll enjoy recognition and incentives for your hard work, a 4-day work week and 6 weeks annual leave, diverse working arrangements including outreach clinics, local care delivery, and WFH days. You’ll also benefit from support and mentoring from industry leaders, opportunities to connect with diverse communities, and exposure to a wide range of clinical cases, all while being part of a purpose-driven team.

Can I work part-time or flexibly?

We aim to offer flexibility wherever we can. Talk to your manager about your needs, and we’ll work with you to find a solution that supports both you and the team.
